Flight to Paris on Sunday -- Kids meal, or not??

Has anyone had any experiences with kids meals? I requested one for my toddler for our flight to Paris on Sunday, and I hope that was not a mistake.

You might be well off bringing something from home. You can always give your child the airplanes meal, but it might be a good back up plan to bring "home" food.
I, for one, do not eat airplane food, therefore would not give it to my child.

I always ordered kids meals for my kids when we traveled...it was a treat for them because I rarely took them to fast food restaurants or cooked them these food items...back then it was usually a burger, hot dog or chicken nuggets with fries or potato chips, candy bar or cookie, an apple, and a juice drink (for lunch or dinner)...for breakfast I remember it was usually a sweet cold cereal that was popular with kids...not exactly perfectly balanced or healthy, but as I said, my kids looked forward to them as a treat...I also agree with kc to bring along food items that you know your kids like and will eat.

I don't think the fact that you're flying on Sunday will have any bearing on the kids' meal. Should be the same as any other day of the week.

The benefit is that they will get served first. You can get your toddler situated before you get your meal.

I requested a kid's meal for my toddler on British Airways once and it was a good decision - it included a lot of snacks, fruit, etc, which he enjoyed. It was served in a case which when empty turned into a little plastic briefcase with a detachable ruler and other bits and pieces.

It also alerts the staff to the fact there is a child there, and they may bring round a "kid's pack" which helps to pass the time. Depends on the airline I suppose.
