Flat rental in London
We are looking to rent a flat in central London for about a week. the Mayfair area of London looks very nice. What are names of some agencies/websites i can look at?
Ever heard of Regent Suites? |
Not an agency, but you might look at Nell Gwynn House on Slaone Avenue. Very convenient location. Just a block or 2 to The King's Rd with excellent shops and transportation and Fulham Rd in the other directions. Several really good restaurants nearbyand walking distance for good waklers to the V&S and the Natural History Museum. Sloane Sq Tube is nearby too if you prefer tube to buses. The 22 and 11 run along King's Rd and they will take you just about anywhere you'd want to go.

What is your budget? I agree that Nell Gwynn is a very good location - not in Mayfair but a better area for visitors IMO.
(BTW - avalon meant the V&A) |
Mayfair is one of most expensive, upscale, neighborhoods to stay in - and with good reason, IMHO. It's NICE!
I think the Regent Suites apartments on Curzon Street are VERY well located for visitors: an easy walk to many tourists sites and a few blocks walk to the Green Park Tube stop - which will quickly get you anywhere else. The immediate area of the apartment is also close to many shops, restaurants, etc. Other websites to consider are: http://www.homeaway.com/ and http://www.vrbo.com/ Do your searching through "map view". |
You need to determine a budget. You need to google london apartment vacation rentals.
And unless you're willing to drop $300+/night, you need to reconsider about Mayfair - it's expensive. A Place Like Home has various budget levels for the apartments it offers. |
i used Londonconnections and was very happy with their service, and with the flat we rented.

We were very happy with our flat on, I think I remember, Hay Hill Street in Mayfair, close to Berkeley Square on one side and the Ritz Hotel on the other, and, of course, the American Embassy. The neighborhood is quiet and a bit POSH; i.e., it runs more to Rolls Royces than to ToyotasWe booked through LondonConnection which we've reliably and happily used twice. It has an 800 number at its headquarters in Utah, but sometimes you'll be connected with one of the owners who is traveling around London or Paris.

We stayed here in 2003: http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/Eng...ndon/p1904.htm
From the reviews it looks like it is still being let. We loved the place and the location was very close to Marble Arch and Mayfair. Current price is £100 per night or £700 per week. That's very reasonable for that area. Cheers, Alan, Australia http://loraltravel.blogspot.com/ |
We always use homeaway.com and vrbo.com with great success.
