Flamenco with a 10yr old?

Hi
Going to Andalusia in Aug. I've already asked other questions here. More keep coming up. My 10yr old likes dancing and we adults don't want to miss a Flamenco show. I know these take place quite late. Do people go to such places with children? If so, where would be one in Sevilla or Jerez where kids would be tolerated and how late do these things usually go. Would prefer a non-touristy place. There are lots of posts on flamenco here but none I found addressed kids.
Thanks,
Fran

A lot of places offer 2 shows per night. The earlier one starts around 8ish. I'm not sure if there are non-touristy flamenco shows out there. Why would locals go to flamenco shows night after night? Of cousre they're all touristy!

I went to one in Seville which is a smaller production - Casa de la Memoria at c/Ximénez de Enciso, 28. It is a 1-hr show (instead of 2-hr shows most other places offer). They usually have 2 shows per night: 7:30p & 9p. This may work for you.

Casa de la memoria is fabulous. Not that we have ever taken a child but you see the show up close and it is only an hour. Most of the others I think are more of an all evening affair with drinks, dinner etc.

Casa de la Memoria does have good reviews. I think I'll just go there and ask if it's alright to bring a child. 1 hr is more than enough for my daughter.
Thanks!

In Sevilla we went to a flamenco show with my then 14-year-old dancer. She does Latin and Ballroom, and it was on her insistence that we went to this show. Not that we minded terribly .

She loved it.

As others suggested, pick an earlier show. I don't remember seeing other kids there, but I didn't pay much attention to that and don't think it would be a problem.

10 year old should love it if she / he is a dancer that is. They might enjoy getting used to the singing if they have not been exposed to it yet. In Casa Patas in Madrid there was a Spanish family with approx a 9/10 yr old at the midnight show she was wide awake and very interested. It depends on your kid of course.

Even for adults, perhaps a preview will help you enjoy it more
