Flamenco -- Cordoba, Seville or Granada?
 

Which town offers the best flamenco shows? I will be in all 3 over the course of 10 days and would like to experience true flamenco.

In intimiate Case de La Memória only top of the shelf artists perform. Most are soloists in the greatest theaters and on the most important festivals. Changing artists every night. No food, no drinks, just flamenco. http://www.casadelamemoria.es/

Granada,
I can recommend the Thursday night performance at Peña La Platería, one of the oldest exisiting flamenco clubs in Spain. Mostly a local crowd. Sometimes they also have performances on Saturday nights. The performances starts at 10.30pm and the entrance is only some 10-12€ with one drink included. One of the greatest up and coming flamenco dancers today, Patricia Guerrero (23), literally grew up here, and the greatest local flamenco artists perform here on a regular basis. Córdoba:
Have had some of my finest flamenco bar and theater experiences in Córdoba, but I know of no very good tablao. Tablao Cardenal seems to be a fine place, but a bit more the stereotype with the polka-dot dresses and the flowers in the hair etc, I suspect more touristy:

And since then, Arte y Sabores in Cordoba has proved to be an excellent place. Few places that stages performances every night which is as genuine as this. But then the place also has become very popular with local aficionados and flamenco artists. I can only agree about Arte y Sabores in Córdoba. It's a very small tablao (approx. 30 seats) which makes it a very intimate experience. It wasn't full when we were there (June 2014). I think there were 16 people in total, which was perfect.
Don't expect a big touristic show with lots of color and fuss. The three dancers and the guitar player were all dressed in black and gave a pretty rough version of flamenco (with a bit of sevillana). It was dramatic and very passionate.

My main music passion is Gypsy Jazz as still performed by disciples of Django Reinhardt. I know that Gypsy Jazz is mostly French in style but Spanish guitar adapted into jazz can be quite wonderful also. Are there any venues that feature that type of music in Malaga, Cadiz, Seville, Granada, Cordoba, or Madrid?

You may find venues in Catalunya (Barcelona, Gerona, ...) but in Andalucía it's flamenco and sevillana.

We were in Barcelona 6 years ago and while visiting Parc Guell we were entertained by a group, Guitarras Nocturnas, that was playing there. We bought one of their CDs and have enjoyed it since. Near the end of that trip we spent a couple of days in Sitges before flying home. We came across two guitarists playing in a fashion similar to gypsy jazz. They had no CDs to sell or a cup for donations; they seemed to be playing for themselves and anyone else who appreciated it.

Hope that the greatest talent in Django style jazz for some decades Jimmy Rosenberg is soon returning to stage.
