Thanks for seeking out all those links Ana Maria. It is so nice to be able to talk about flamenco with others! (And thanks for that article about Rocio M, I hadn't actually read it before)

I have to say that Caracoles are among my favourite styles because that was the first palo I ever learned.
We had a very ambitious teacher and she decided we should perform a dance "por caracoles" for the end of year show (complete with fans!).

We were accompanied by a couple of guitarists rather than a pre-recorded track so we were somewhat unsure as to what speed they'd actually be playing at. Well when we got on stage the guitarists launched into the song about twice as fast as during rehearals, so as you can imagine the whole thing was a bit of a fiasco as half of our group ended up dancing two beats out of time, but the audience didn't seem to notice and we all had a blast anyway!! :-)

"Wow!" ambitious for a first timer YES!

I am sure it was beautiful. Do you
have any photos? I am sure they would love to see them here.

I don't have any photos of that show, unfortunately, but I might have a few more recent ones (bulerias, sevillanas). If you're interested I'll try and look them out and post them online.
