Five Days in Slovenia
Dear Friends,We are a family of three, with a 5 year old daughter. We plan to visit Slovenia from India for 5 full days in Mid October excluding the arrival & departure day). Im looking for suggestions for an itinerary. We will be using public transport.
1. Should i stay in Ljublana all 5 days and do day trips to Lake Bled, Skofja Loka, Logarska Dolina – Velika Planina, Piran etc.. OR should i split my stay. 2. We love exploring the town, local culture, cuisine etc. Thank you... |
Depends on your preferences! Slovenia is small and public transportation to many places is easiest from Ljubljana, so if you stay in Llubljana, you can see a great deal with day trips. Some people prefer to change locations for any number of reasons -- to be closer to things they want to see upon awakening or before heading to sleep, to link to specific memories to a different lodging, to save money if lodging costs differ, etc. OTOH, many people with a 5-year-old would opt to simplify the experience by staying in one place. No right or wrong answer, IMO, just different options.
If you haven't already seen it, I strongly recommend the Rough Guide for Slovenia. Slovenia is lovely -- enjoy! |
Slovenia is indeed a small country, and five days is too short a time to split it up into different locations, although this is a good way to immerse yourself more deeply in the atmosphere.
