"Fitness station" in Paris parks?

I know this is a long-shot, but does anyone know if there are any outdoor fitness stations in central Paris? Preferably in the vicinity of Luxembourg Gardens? I hate to pay 25 euro for a day pass to a gym. A pull up bar and a dip bar coupled with my morning run would be terrific. Thanks for any info.

The closest full blown parcours fitness set up I know of is near Fontainbleau, a bit too far away.
Have you contacted a Paris running club like the Hash House Harriers or MeetUp to see if they can recommend a place?

I have a silly question on the Hash House Harriers. Are they all fast runners? I've done Hash Runs in Honolulu, but they included runners of all paces. I've been too intimidated to try it in other cities. On On indeed!!!!!

No, not all are fast runners. And even some of those who are fast runners don't push themselves as hard during an HHH run. And they tend to be very welcoming to visitors.

I used to run around the Champs de Mars and as I remember they had a few bars there.

Cimbrone May 7th, 2007 08:41 AM

Thanks for all the responses. The Champ de Mars sounds most convenient. How many miles would you estimate from Luxembourg Gardens (or Saint Sulpice) to Champ de Mars?

Cimbrone May 7th, 2007 08:47 AM

3.6 miles seems to be my answer. Sound right?

Lawchick May 7th, 2007 08:48 AM

About a mile

Cimbrone May 7th, 2007 08:56 AM

Hmmm...maybe the 3.6 miles on a pariswalk website was not the most direct route. 1 mile is even better.

Christina May 7th, 2007 09:04 AM

It's around 2 km, don't know how one could get 3.6 miles. Isn't Pariswalks a walking tour company that goes all over on its tours, not a distance calculator?

Cimbrone May 7th, 2007 12:56 PM

You're right, Christina. But there was a site that provided the distance of this particular walk starting at Luxembourg Gdns and ending at the Eiffel Tower.

Anyone know for sure that there are exercise bars in the Champ de Mars?
