Fishing/boating at Lake Constance
 

I am in the very early stages of planning our Sept 09 trip.

I tried searching but can't seem to find the answer. Can you fish (catch and release) Lake Constance?

Can you rent boats, fishing type, or motor type?

You can buy a fishing licence at the local tourist information, but it will only be valid for fishing on the waterfront. If you want to use a boat for fishing, you need a "Fischereierlaubniskarte" permit, this is not easy to get.

Well, it's somewhat difficult. You need a license (former class A) from either Germany, Austria or Switzerland.

With this license, you can apply for a 30 day hoilday Bodensee permit.

Does it have to be a motor boat?
You can rent smaller electric boats without problem.
