FISH! Near Tate Modern?

I had heard that the restaurant Fish! was convenient to the Tate Modern. Blackfriars Tube stop? I can't seem to locate proximity to each other. Please advise. Thank you

Don't know about Fish! but there is a delicious fish restaurant called Whitebait off Cannon Street about two hundred yards from the North End of the Wobbly Bridge.

Let me know if you want more information.

Spoon

It's in the opposite direction from Blackfriars, near Southwark Cathedral; nearest tube is London Bridge. See the following for a link to a map: http://www.squaremeal.co.uk/scripts/....cgi?rest=1195

And it's very tasty and fairly reasonable and has outdoor seating if it's a nice day...
I didn't know there is a Fish! restaurant near London Bridge. The one I like is near Borough Market, nearest tube station: Borough. The architecture of the restaurant is pretty cool, something like a glasshouse. There is also another one near Travel Inn at County Hall.

Thanks for the suggestion...we will be visiting the Tate in the evening and were looking for a "reasonable" price restaurant in that area. Not necessarily seafood. Any other suggestions...the FISH! seemed a little on the pricey side. Thank you

Hey Carrie - Borough Market is just around the corner from London Bridge (it's one of those funny triangle bits in London, when you think things are far away, but really they are right next to eachother...) Check out the A-Z
(I had thought those were far away from eachother too for the longest time, until one day I walked a different route with one of my colleagues and, boom, there it was!)

Anyway, back to the original question... reasonable resto near Tate Modern?

Hmmm... I like the resto in the Tate for the fab view. Walking along the river toward SouthBank, there is a funny group of shops/restaurants with a really good pub. Can't remember the name of the cluster, but there is a Gourmet Pizza right on the river, but set back from it on the left is a nice and reasonable pub.
My other suggestion would be to walk back across the "no-longer-wobbly" bridge toward St. Pauls, and there are loads of good and reasonable restaurants in the area (best suggestion is to get off the main drag and explore...) If your feet are too tired to walk any more, on the main drag, percento is very good but not necessarily reasonable (depends on if you sit upstairs or down and what your order). Cafe Flo is okay, not great but a good last resort, Jamies is pretty good, La Grande Marque is a bit down toward Fleet Street and is a good wine bar with yummy sandwiches...

yes Carrie the Fish! at London Bridge is the same one you're thinking off at Borough Market.

Actually a great Saturday trip – morning, wander around Borough Market, build up an appetitie, go for lunch in FISH!, go to Tate Modern, wander back along the South Bank towards Waterloo, and stop for a cocktail at the Oxo Tower. Bliss.
