fish and chips
For FANTASTIC fish and chips go to The Dining Place in the Soho area. The restaurant is a very small, authentic place and you will be the only tourist there. Don't miss it!!! I think it is on Berwick Street. You can walk there from the Leicester Square area.

Anyone else want to weight in on where they think the fish & chips are the best?

The best of the 4 places I have tried in London was the Shakespeare, a pub across from Victoria Station. I have a photo at http://mightymac.org/gb059.JPG

Keith

Hi

generally the F&C shop on Lissom Grove (midway Baker St - Paddington) is reckoned to be the best.

In the early 70's I worked nearby and we took lunch there every Friday.

Always good

Peter
http://tlp.netfirms.com

Mary Janes in Cromer. Yum.

Brief answer but I've been gone a few days and have some catching up to do.

sea shells is correct and i think they have another location in the east end....the main one is on the street mentioned above....more than just fish and chips however....not cheap...they have fish of all kinds....its a less than fancy restaurant, but quite adequate...what we call in the usa a family style, non-chain restaurant....

My fave was Geale's near Notting Hill tube stop.

We loved the F & C at the Devonshire Arms Pub. It's within walking distance of Leicester Square.
