First Visit to Sicily

My husband and I have planned a trip to Sicily in June of 2023. We have been to Italy before, but never Sicily. My grandparents were both born in Agrigento before emigrating to the US in the 1930's. I am really interested in finding out some information about them while on this trip.

We fly into Naples and spend one night before flying to Palermo. We plan to spend four nights there. Let me say, before I continue, that we do not like to jump from hotel to hotel after only one or two nights. We like a more relaxed pace, so have planned to spend some time in different towns on the western side of the island. After Palermo, we move to Marsala for two nights, then onto Agrigento for five nights. We have contacted a guide in Agrigento who will help us navigate the area. After Agrigento, we will spend three nights in Sciacca before driving back to Palermo to fly home. All together we will be in Sicily 12 days. We will pick up a rental car upon leaving Palermo for the rest of the island. I would like any suggestions for airlines to fly from Naples to Palermo and back. Also hidden gems and restaurants would be nice suggestions. Thanks!

Airlines that fly Palermo to Naples
easyJet
RyanAir
Volotea

For any airport, I find that an airport's website is a good source of info to find what airlines fly there... wikipedia is also a good source.

You can also check ITA Airways flights. We loved our time in Sicily and hope you will, too!

If you really want to do slow travel, there is an overnight ferry from Naples to Palermo. If you took it you could have a bit more time to explore Naples (one less night in Palermo, though.)

Not a restaurant, but this is a fun place to taste Marsala wine and local products in Marsala - https://www.lasirenaubriaca.it/
The owner is a blast.. a bit crazy, maybe always a bit buzzed, but super happy. Great music and people watching too.
