Forgot to mention- they are doing construction on the church by the Spanish Steps (for the life of me can't remember the name) so it doesn't look like the way you've probably seen in the tour books, online. Didn't remember seeing any flowers in bloom either. I was looking forward to the steps on our trip and was disappointed.

Thank you all so much. This is why I love this forum. My friend had just about decided on the Del Senato but I will print out these replies and give them to her. Now if I could only go with them...sigh! Maybe next year.

Of my eight visits to Rome, I have stayed in Pantheon area 5 of those.It is my favorite. I have also stayed on Via Veneto, near the Colosseum and near Sp. Steps. IME,none compare.

The Santa Chiara, Del Senato and Minerve are all good choices.
