I think you have made a good choice, considering your likes. Food is just tremendous in France. Also staying in one place is a good decision. If you actually get 7 days, I suppose you could do London and Paris, but I still think just Paris, with a day-trip or two is better. Now you can start learning a little French! As someone above said, if you always start out in French, saying that you basically you don't speak French, everyone seems to be pretty happy with you. Also, always start out with a greeting, Bonjour, madame or monsieur, before starting on your business -- even when buying a train ticket, for example. The French are much more polite (or whatever you want to call it) than we Americans who think it is just fine (and it is, in America) to start out on your business without a greeting.

Go to Rome. Then you can go to London and Paris in future years and be happy you saw the best first. The other two do not compare to Rome at all.

Only a @#$%^ *()__JH H&&^%$$# wouldprefer Rome to Paris. :)
