Michel_Paris has created some useful itineraries by day for you. With only four days I suggest skipping Montmartre and save it for a return trip. So many more wonderful places in Paris (IMHO) for the first visit. If you visit the Musee d'Orsay go to the top floor and with a telephoto lens on your camera you can get a nice photo of the Sacre Coeur at Montmartre.

If you are in Paris on a Sunday the Marais is a good place to visit. Many of the shops are open Sunday (
DH sampled cookies from several shops) and you can wander your way to the Place des Vosges, one of our favorite spots to sit on a park bench watch Paris.

Looking forward to your report.

In regard to Denisea's advice about going to st chapelle early, it's also good much later in the day whe. The tour groups have left. I second the suggestion to go to a concert there if you have time, we did and it was wonderful.

Checked back and happy to see additional ideas. Will post our tentative itinerary (using tithe ones you have been so kind to post) for feedback when we get closer to the Fall. We do like to do things at the spur of the moment, thus the "tentative" but I do like to have a plan to work from. Now looking for a decent fare From Paris to BCN, they are very high and Vueling, which we used once before, doesn't book so far in advance.
