First-Timer Help
Ok, I've done some research but I think I'm in overdrive.I've used a travel agent to help with some things (air Fare and some hotels) and am doing the rest myself).Crazy I know but its to late so help me not make any more mistakes please! I was going to buy an Italy Flexi Rail Card from Rick Steves before my trip but after research feel it's best to wait until I get to Italy and buy 2nd class Eurostar seats. My itinerary is Venice 2 nights(leaving on a SundaY),Florence-3 nights,Ct-2 nights ( I already have been told I made a mistake ,should of been before Florence),then Siena 2 nights, Rome 4 nights. Any suggestions about traveling around would be appreciated. I want to save time since I'm traveling around so much. Thanks in advance.

Jaja, it's not clear what help you're looking for. Sounds like you're taking a train from place to place. Probably best to buy point to point tickets rather than a pass (I think). You're not in any place long enough to do daytrips away. So what specific help do you need?

I wanted to know if I should buy my Rail pass before I leave or just wait and buy tickets during trip. Thanks

Buy point-to-point tickets once you're there. To buy tickets beforehand, you would probably have to use a service that would charge hefty fees in addition to the cost of tickets. If your hotel in each place are already booked, your travel days are set and you could buy all your tickets at the same time when you first arrive. In any case, buying the tickets a day or two before your travel day couldn't hurt.

have you considered a rental car?? you miss so much on public transport...small towns, etc in between the larger towns....very easy to drive in italy...you also get to go on your schedule...

i just returned from Italy 3 weeks ago. We bought our tickets in the train stations upon arriving for our next destination. Each time I found a travel agency and had tickets within 10 minutes most times. We didn't have to think about it after that. we got stuck on a intercity train from Bologna to Venice because we wanted to get to Venice earlier than we could on a direct eurostar. It was pretty horrible. Hot, crowded and bathroom smelly. If you have to take one of these trains see if there is a first class and take it.

Meant to say we bought our tickets in the train stations for our next destination upon arrival from our previous city.
