LVSue, by 'person' mamc was just clarifying for me that she bought her ticket from a human (at the billets window), rather than just the ticket-part out of a vending machine. She didn't mean 'person' like somebody on the street corner!

for the record, in case anyone pulls this up for info on Carte Orange -- I'm in Paris and you do need a photo for it. It is very clear because there is a space on the card for the photo with a piece of paper on top that says "PHOTO d'IDENTITE DU TITULAIRE (obligatoire)" ie, Identity Photo of person named on the card obligatory--you strip of that paper to affix the photo. Also, the directions they give with it also tell you that you must put a photo on it, as well as the directions about copying the number from the card onto your ticket. The price is still 13,75 euro for two zones. The 3 zone price is about 18 or so, of course.
They haven't posted yet the price increases, which are always July 1st, but I suppose they will.

Could you not get the hotel you are staying in to send a car or perhaps take a taxi. I for one feel that a honeymoon should be without much effort and the comfort of knowing someone will be there to pick you up may be worth the extra cost. It is important to remember how tired you will be when you get there and the fact that you will probably want to make a great first impression! Just my opinion, though. Have a great time and what a lucky girl!

LOts of good sometimes contradictory info in these replies. Whatever pass you decided on try to use the buses. Souvenir stores sell Paris Pratique or some such little book of maps. The buses are more interesting to ride and ususllly are full of more or less real Perisian people. I don't think a first timer should try to use the RER from the airport unless money is short. Enjoy Paris. I don't know why we all don't live there.
