Yes, the viking splash tour was in business when we were there also. "Dublin's Viking Adventure" is closed though (as of March I believe).

Bill

We just returned from Ireland and although the weather was terrible for many days on our trip, we still had a great time.

We travelled with our son - although he is 14 I think his mind-set is probably not too far from your 4 and 5 year olds! Things he liked: The beaches on the Dingle Peninsula. Absloutely great. Pitch and Put Golf. We went to the one near Clifden, very picturesque setting, a lot of kids on the course, we all had a great time.

We bicycled around the Dingle Peninsula - 30 miles but at least half of it is coasting downhill at the end. It might be a little tough for your kids unless you just take your time and walk the bikes up the uphill pieces. Or maybe they have bicycles built for two? Beautiful views. You could break it up with a nice swim at one of the beaches. Rent bikes in Dingle. Start by 10:00 am and you should have PLENTY of time.

In August 1989 my wife and I went on our honeymoon to Ireland. I was a widower, in my 50's, who had never been to Europe.

We stayed at the Yeats Country Inn in Sligo. We came down to breakfast the first morning and nearly every table had 6 to ten family members-Pat and Mary and the five children, Padraic, Mike, Colleen, etc. Never have I been in a more pleasnt atmosphere. Such polite, happy children left an impression on me I have never forgotten.

In the back of the hotel there was a little house full of colored tennis balls and the children leapt in and out of the windows of it. The squeals of their laughter filled the area and careen around my memory as I respond to your request.

My wife and I are each of half Irish ancestry and we were proud and delighted to travel through such a lovely child-friendly country.
