Hi surich - that's great. I'm sure that you will love both places. How long have you got in each? and do you mind if i ask where you booked?

One place that I forgot to mention before but is very close to Instow is Tapeley park - it's between Instow and the new bridge [built about 40 years ago but still very new looking and called that to distinguish it from the old medieval bridge in Bideford].

Tapeley Park has a lovely garden and wonderful views over the estuary - and does very good teas.

In that area I would also suggest Clovelley, Hartland Point, Hartland Abbey, Docton Mill, and Appledore of course.

Hi annhig
We got a different room in Springfield house instow with private bathroom which has good reviews and in Tavistock we are staying at Tavistock house hotel which also has good reviews. We hope to visit the places you have suggested. If we enjoy the area we can always revisit and spend a bit longer there. Fingers crossed for good weather.

That's great, Surich.

Around Tavistock, as well as the town, you might enjoy going up to Lydford to look at the Gorge, and further round the top of the Moor, you come to Belstone which has a good pub [the Tors] and some lovely walks. Chagford is also a pretty village on the Moor as is Dartmeet.

Going south if you like gardens, the Garden House at Buckland Monachorum is a treasure, with a great cafe and it's easy to pair with Buckland Abbey just down the road which is connected with Sir Francis Drake. On the Tamar itself are Morwellam Quay and Cotehele.

I hope you have a wonderful time and come to love the area as much as we do!

Just in case you aren't familiar with the terminology . . . is it a 'private' or an 'ensuite' bathroom? A private bathroom is yours alone and not shared with anyone else, but is not IN the bedroom. it could be right next door to your bedroom or down the hall. An ensuite bathroom is like you may be used to w/ the bathroom in/directly connected to the bedroom.

Hi
Yes it is ensuite.
Thanks
