First time to Cyprus....advice sought
A friend and I are going to Cyprus in August. We have four nights. I was wondering whether to divide two in Nicosia and two in Limassol, or to just stay in Nicosia. We are looking to get a taste of the country, see some sights, eat well etc....Thanks for the assistance.....

I would divide it as you have chosen.
Will rent a car or take a taxi. There is bus service It departs from the Municipal Market Park Place in Limassol and ends up in Nicosia at Solomos Square. |
For 4 nights I would choose one location and it would definitely not be Nicosia. For one thing it is incredibly hot to be inland in August. Limassol, although not my favourite place it at least central (for the south) for getting around and there is a good choice of hotels near the sea. The wine villages in the Limassol district are within easy reach and so are the mountains plus Pafos is accessible which has the mosaics, tomb of the kings etc. Also you can see Curium (Kourion) which is a short distance outside Limassol which is on a nice beach.

I have been to Cyprus 12 times. My husband goes 2 times a year. Four days - pick one spot. I would pick Limassol and then go and see Paphos and the archeological sites. You can also go up to the mountains which is nice as you are going at a hot time.

Thanks for all of this...I would like to see Nicosia,a t least for a day so perhaps 3 nights in Limassol, then the last before departure in Nicosia...I appreciate all of the advice...

Second for Paphos and up into the hills and the North West (Greek) coast

The distances are not great between Limassol and Nicosia and the road is good so it is possible to visit Nicosia in a day.
