First Time Solo Travel to Paris

This is my fifth trip to Paris but first solo one. Is there a website that you can connect with other solo travelers to Paris? I have booked tickets for Pink Martini, a couple of day art tours and an overnight to London. I enjoy my time alone but would enjoy meeting other travelers there for coffee or travel experiences in Paris.

Why not try to arrange a Fodors GTG. Other members are likely to be there while you are -- plus the handful of Fodorite Paris residents.

I answered your question on the other thread, but have you considered something like this

A regular poster here did this on one of her trips and enjoyed it.

Agree about trying to arrange a GTG. Although if you've arranged a couple of art tours already, it sounds like enough time with other people to me.

While not wanting to throw a wet blanket on janisj's suggestion for a GTG, the 1 time I bothered doing it I met nice women who I had nothing whatever in common with. If having dinner with a group of strangers appeals then, by all means, give it a try but I didn't find it satisfying.

Dinner at JIm Haynes, on the other hand, I found fun as people really seem to want to meet other people and there are enough there to find those with whom you'll enjoy chatting: http://www.jim-haynes.com/contact/index.php

If it's a short trip you'll have so much to do you won't notice you're alone.

Maybe you should check out Paris Greeters.

Before my last trip to Paris, I came to this forum and asked if anyone wanted to meet up and ended up having lunch with ten other Fodorites. It was an interesting group and we spent almost three hours visiting and exchanging travel stories.

A few years earlier I met up with two Fodorites and enjoyed an evening of drinks and dinner with them.

Start a thread with your travel dates and I'm sure you'll get some responses.

I've been to more than 12 GTGs - probably 15, and enjoyed most of them immensely . . .

I didn't mean that should be your only option . . .
