FIRST time Solo Travel from Paris to Rome

Hey yall, I am planning on arriving to Paris on May 30 and am trying to be in Rome by June3 or 4 to meet up with a friend. I am wondering if yall had any recommendations on #1 how to do this, but also the best places to visit while I am making my way to Rome. I am thinking of spending like two nights in paris and then going down towards Nice, Florence, and then Rome, or should i stop by in Geneva????. I would love if you could give me any tips for making this cheap(as I am a student) and the best spots to visit on my travel over there!

Thanks so much!

Also any tips on which train tickets to buy?--And should i sleep on them??

Spend your entire time in Paris than fly to Rome

Train also a option depending on what prices you get for tickets

Unless you have been to Paris several times, I agree -- spend the time in Paris and then fly to Rome on June 3 or 4. Two night would only give you 1 full days for Paris and you'll likely be jet lagged. Sooooooo much to see and do in Paris and flying would be less expensive that taking multiple trains to Nice and or Geneva and or Florence.

I'd still take the train. One of my best friends met his wife on a train, social interaction and the views are just better

Views of what? Countryside"?

Do Paris.

Might meet your next wife on the plane. Women do fly

The train will be expensive. Depending on the route you're taking I think at least three trains. It'll take time.

If the OP had a longer time sure take the train. Stop in between but with two days? That's not a great use of time.

Train from Paris to Nice. Train to Ventimiglia. Then at least one change to Florence.

lFixbus to Milan (fares start at 30 EUR if you book ahead) plus pre booked train may be the cheapest solution
