Maybe you tell us where you live, wherefrom you fligh in and to where? Do you want to rent a car? Do you have experience with driving in snow and ice and darkness? becouse you only have about 2hours of pale light.

I stayed at Santa's Igloos in Rovaniemi. The igloos are small but nice, and on request, they will wake you if the Northern Lights appear. The town is great and I'm sure it's even more charming at Christmas time. You can fly Finnair from Helsinki to Rovaniemi. If you can arrange it, I really enjoyed a day cruise on an ice breaker ship. You'll have a chance to walk on the frozen sea, and put on a survival suit and go for a swim. You should also check into dogsled rides, or maybe a riding a sleigh pulled by reindeer. I very much enjoyed Northern Finland in the winter.

You will find that there are lots of travel companies organising trips which would save you learning to drive in snow.

Hey OG Poster, Good day, regarding where to book your short 8-days trip, you can check out Booking.com or Viator they have a great selections of trip/travel packages especially during this time of the year (Christmas). And lastly hope you both enjoy your trip to Finland. Merry Christmas in advance.

This Christmas? Do you have your visas sorted already? They can take a while to organise.
You need to check what documents are required asap. |
