First Time Ireland Itinerary Review - With a Baby
My husband and I are planning a trip to Ireland for next June (no set dates yet). We were thinking of going to Italy originally but after some additional research, Ireland seems like it will work better for us. This will be our first trip with our baby (she will be 1 in June) and our first time to Ireland. We plan to take a much slower pace than our previous trips. I'm thinking we will go for 10 nights. I've done some very basic research to begin an itinerary and would love some feedback.
2 nights Dublin, 5 nights Kenmare, 3 nights Galway Day 1: Arrive in Dublin, overnight in Dublin Day 2: Explore Dublin, overnight in Dublin Day 3: Drive from Dublin to Kenmare (stopping at either Rock of Cashel or Blarney Castle on the way - with the baby, I don't think we can do both), overnight in Kenmare Day 4: Explore Kenmare and maybe some of Killarney National Park, overnight in Kenmare Day 5: Ring of Beara, overnight Kenmare Day 6: Ring of Kerry, overnight Kenmare Day 7: Dingle Peninsula, overnight Kenmare Day 8: Drive to Galway (stopping at Cliffs of Moher if weather is nice), overnight Galway Day 9: Explore Galway, Overnight Galway Day 10: Cliffs of Moher, Overnight Galway Day 11: Depart via Shannon Should we cut out one of the rings (Beara, Kerry, Dingle) and do something else with that day? I would like to avoid changing hotels/BnBs as much as possible due to having all the baby gear. Is Kenmare a good base for the majority of our trip? Is there anything great we are completely missing? |
