I don't really care how old you are and if your budget is age appropriate as some on this board critcize. We just returned from Paris yesterday. You can spend as much or as little as you want. Eating is expensive, eating well is really expensive. I would suggest a cafe breakfast on the street instead of in the hotel, lunch at a bistro or cafe, and a nice dinner. Should keep you well in your budget with money to spend on transportation, admission tickets to museums or shopping. Paris is a very expensive place to vist and staying within a budget, no matter how big it is, can be a challenge. Splurge only on what will be truly memorable - whether it be one big blow out meal at a starred restaurant, a piece of art, or something you really want to have. Resist the rest. Most of all- enjoy yourself.

On my trip to Italy my budget was $100 Euro a day not including accomodation or airfare...

I have looked at a lot of ATM message threads and seen only one comment on this question. Can anyone else provide info? Do Paris ATM withdrawals automatically come out of one's checking account? Or do you get to select which account to use (checking vs. savings) the way we do in the US? Thanks.

You can only withdraw funds from a primary checking account.

(BTW - burying your question at the end of a 2005 thread isn't usually the best way to get answers)

In France many two star hotels are perfectly fine, sometimes even better that 3 stars. So choose wisely
the hotel. Use mappy.com to see the hotel location, carry very little luggage so you can use public transportation or walk to hotels. This amounts to big savings.
