JRKite - I don't know if you've booked your accomodation yet. There are some B&B's that have minimal "single supplement" charges. If you search hostelworld.com and http://www.guide-to-ireland.com/ you should be able to find a handful of B&B's with better rates for singles. The second website listed gave me better options. Hostelworld does feature B&Bs and guesthouses, and is better at telling you the cost up-front in Euros, Dollars, or Pounds. What I would do is research or price out the places you are interested in and contact each place directly to inquire about a single supplement or discount. I've been getting better rates going that route, and my trip is not until September.

Wow do I feel like a few crayons short of a full box - just noticed the dates on this thread. Hope her trip went well. For anyone else looking for accomodation, maybe my post is helpful. =)
