First meal in Rome?

I will be arriving in Rome with my three daughters (ages 19, 17, 13) early next Friday (15 March) morning. We're staying at the Hassler and will have enough time for a short nap and lunch before we start a tour of Ancient Rome. We would like to be able to walk to a casual and yummy restaurant/trattoria for lunch. One daughter is a vegetarian, one is pick, and one is easy. I'd very much appreciate all suggestions.

If ancient Rome means you'll be in the area of the Forum, try San Teodoro on Via Fienili. Excellent food. People dress nicely casual (except for the business lunchers, of course). But remember, people don't eat and run in the restaurants in Rome. You might want to leave a place like this for dinner and try a pizza slice place for lunch.

I thought that this was an agricultural history question!

Rye, corn, or oat?
We are vegetarian and loved Orso '80 not too far from the Pantheon on Via Del Orso. AWe went there our first and last nights in Rome. Order the antipasti- they bring all kinds of food- beans, vegies, mozzarella, omelette, fresh baked flat bread- and you can request vegie only- but they also have meats and fish...We loved it. There is so much food you do not need to order an entree but, you can if desired. It is really a fun restaurant. Another wonderful restaurant is Myosotis not too far from the Pantheon. Insalata Ricci has excellent salads and pasta dishes and is really reasonable. Margutta Vegetariana on Via Margutta near the Spanish Steps is pricey but elegant-we enjoyed the food. It is easy to eat great as a vegetarian in Italy and there are so many great restaurants. Our dinners for three usually averaged about$45-that was including wine and dessert. We ate really well.
