First draft of Spain itinerary
Hello All,
I have been looking at a lot of old posts form fodors and in conjunction with TripAdvisor have come up with a partial rough draft and would like some advice. i just want to make sure i have not packed to much into a short period of time. The trip will be for 2 weeks and it a group of 6 people (It's our first time traveling to Europe). The order in which to visit the cities are still up in the air and for some of the cities we don't know what to do since most of the cities have the same kind of tourist attractions(like churches etc). Trip is as follows: Barcelona (3 Days): la Sagrada Familia La Ramblas Columbus Monument Guell Park Casa Batllo Casa Mila Guell Palace Picasso Museum Santa Maria del Mar Seville (3 Days): Giralda Tower Casa de Pilatos Barrio Santa Cruz Sevilla Cathedral Alcazar Aire de sevilla Maria Lusia Park Plaza de Espana Museo del baile Flamenco Cordoba (1 / Day Trip from Sevilla): Cordoba Cathedral / Mezquita Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos Cordoba Synagogue Puenta Romano Valencia (4 Days): "Any recommendations for this city" Ibiza (1 Day/ Trip from Valencia): Salines saltpans Dalt Vila Platja IIIetes Es Vedra Bunol (1 Day/ Trip from Valencia): Tomato Festival Madrid (4 Days): "Any recommendations for this city" Segovia (1/ Day Trip Madrid): "Any recommendations for this city" Toledo (1/Day Trip Madrid): "Any recommendations for this city" Any advice on cutting down the number of places or tourist attractions, pretty much anything that will help make this trip better, would really be appreciated. Any recommendations on off the beaten path locations that you know off that would make this trip even better i would really like to know about them. thanks |
In Valencia :
City of Arts and Sciences beaches ..starting with Las Arenas La Lonja Fantastic food market Don't know if you can visit Ibiza as a day trip What time of the year? What is your group interested in? How are you traveling between the cities? Are you flying into Barcelona and out of Madrid? |
I plan on going in the last week of august and 1st week of September. when researching the countries we came up up with a rubric to follow and all of are really foodie, into the the culture of the location(we wanna visit the tomato festival :)), into the history of the place. For small distances we plan on taking the train, but large distance we would like to fly and save time. we plan on flying in from France ( don't know which city we will be leaving from) and coming back to Canada from Barcelona. My original idea was to start from the bottom and work my way up, but don't know if that is the right path to take

Fantastic. Got some ideas what to see, where to go whilst in Sevilla & Cordoba. Trying to fit Madina Az Zahra in the list of Cordoba. Not sure if its that necessary. But someone recommended we go there.
Thanx! |

If food is important, perhaps a night at Tickets in Barcelona. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran...Catalonia.html
Boqueria in Barcelona was voted the finest food market in the world a couple of years ago: http://www.boqueria.info/index.php?lang=en Hard competiotion from the Mercado Central in Valencia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ds8ryWd5aFw Perhaps flamenco in intimate Casa de la Memoria in Sevilla? Only top of the shelf artists. Pastora Galván vas voted best female flamenco dancer 2010 by Spanish critics, and she has danced here about once a week for the past couple of years. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractio...Andalucia.html |
