First day in Rome
 

We will arrive on a Tuesday morning.
I was thinking of doing the evening tour with ScalaReale called Navona. Will we be too tired that first night to do a night walking tour?

Has anyone done the night walking tour with EnjoyRome? I am wondering how they compare. Of course the EnjoyRome is less money.

I have done the evening walking tour ofr Navona with Scala Reale,and it was fabulous. It was a quality tour and fun as well as we met at a cafe first and chatted over wine and cheese. The guide even spent extra time with our group, as everyone(5 of us, 6 with the guide) were having so much fun and connecting so well. I do think doing that on the first night is not the best choice, as you could be a little tired in the evening, and not really 100% to enjoy a walking tour. I usually don't like to plan something so structured on my first night, and instead usually eat an early low key dinner. If I have extra energy, that is a bonus, and if not, I am not disappointed at what I have planned. You may just be too tired to enjoy all of the walking that first night. I have tons of energy, and I would not want to do a Scala Reale walking tour my first night after arriving that morning in Rome.
EnjoyRome tours are usually huge groups of people and not as upscale as Scala Reale.However part of the enjoyment for me with Scala Reale was the wealth of information about the architecture, art, and the guides were a little more hip and with it as far as information and presentation.

For me, the answer would always be yes.

Even the one or two times I have (made a big mistake and) slept a lot on arrival day, I was still grumpy, tired and out of sorts well into the evening hours.

I appreciate the input as I have not flown out of the country in about 14 years! Although I do aerobics four days a week and work full time etc, I realize changing time zones and being in a new place will be exhausting. I will schedule that walk for our second night. Thanks for the input.

Robbiegirl,Glad my experience was helpful, and you arranged the second night for the walking tour. An orientation walk was also included in that tour that I enjoyed. If you have the time try to take advantage of that as well.I believe it was offered one morning, everyone met outside of the Train Station and walked with the guide to visit additional sights. My experience with ScalaReale was well worth it.Enjoy!

Robbie64, I have not read that post but glad I read this as I was going to confirm the night walks and the Vatican tour tonight. I will attempt to find the website and read about it. Thank-you.

I did a search on the board of Through Eternity and found VERY POOR reviews of them. Two people had booked tours and no one ever showed. They never bothered to phone the hotel to cancel either of these.
In another post, someone booked and the guide showed up. There were only two people in the group and the guide stated it was not enough people to cover the cost of the tour.
I think ThroughEternity is a definite DO NOT USE.
