First Class Travel clothing
 

Please forgive this question, but I'm trying to cut down on the amount of clothes I pack for my vacation. I'm packing a pair of jeans due to some expected chilly evenings. Is it okay to wear jeans in first class? It would save me some space. Sorry - it's my first time in first class (ff miles)<BR>Thank You for your answers.

It is absolutely, completely, and totally (have I made my point) acceptable to wear jeans in first class. Shoot, I usually wear sweats or whatever is most comfortable since I try and sleep a majority of the time. Not a silly question at all, but you are paying the money/using your miles...you should wear whatever you like!

Yep, you can wear anything your little heart desires. First class on a transatlantic flight is a great experience. I feel a little more appropriate dressing up a bit on a first class flight, but that's my preference.

I did not wear jeans when I flew first class but it was not because they were jeans...<BR><BR>It was just more comfortable travelling in looser fitting slax for the long flight....<BR><BR>I usually wear lightweight baggy type cotton slax--Not sloppy=not sweats- just great comfortable pants....<BR><BR>But to answer your question, JEANS are FINE....<BR><BR>Have a blast!

It's totally fine to wear jeans in first class. I think they are uncomfortable when you are sitting for hours on end and reccommend something wide legged and loose fitting. Much more comfortable and no creases on my body from jeans. Remember that while in the air, you swell up a bit.<BR>Ciao, Melissa

Depending on where you're flying (transpacific routes), they might even give you pjs (so you could save even more space).

You will see many including myself, change into a sweatsuit as soon as they board or right after takeoff. It's more comfy, and as the above poster said, on transpac, most airlines even provide pjs.<BR>Have a great trip!

You're not going to be asked to leave; but, come on, it's a little second class to be wearing jeans in international first. And it remains second class even if plenty others are doing it. Besides, slacks will be more comfortable.

I think nudity is frowned on, but otherwise I believe you can wear what you like.

If you get caught wearing jeans in first class you will be tossed out of the tail door at 30,000 feet. I personally witnessed this. I would stick to evening wear.

My thoughts on what to wear when flying, First Class or not:<BR><BR>It really isn't the class that I fly so much as where I am headed for. I would like to arrive looking as presentable as possible. While I rarely wear jeans anyway-they are way too uncomfortable to sit for 6-8+ hours in any size airplane seat (IMHO) so I usually go for the softer, looser trousers. Not sweats, because I cannot see me walking into a really nice hotel in London/Paris/wherever in sweats. Especially since the one and only pair that I own have paint on them from this winters Kitchen make-over:)<BR>So-why not wear something comfortable, and that looks &quot;nice&quot; and pack the jeans for that &quot;in case you need them&quot; night?<BR>Have fun, flying First is a treat:)

For the amount of $ you are spending in first calss, you should be able to wear wht ever you want.<BR>I usually wera a pretty sweat outfit, almost as comfy as p.j.'s.<BR>have a great trip.<BR>Fluffy

I believe it is British Air that provides jammies for their First Class passengers. Our friend had to go to Dubai in January, he got jammies:)<BR>Personally, I think I would stick to my own clothes, I don't even like to use the blankets or pillows, cannot imagine wearing pjs that some one else slept in.

It's not about the money. It's about class. <BR><BR>With regard to the PJs, they are being given to be used once on board for a certain period of time during the flight. You are not wearing them (as you would with jeans or sweats) to check-in, sit in the club lounge, board the aircraft, depart, go through immigration/customs and later check-in to your hotel.

You are absolutely right, it isn't about the money it is about the class...clothes don't make a person have class. Silivia, the point here is I always travel first class and check into &quot;really nice&quot; hotels wearing whatever I am comfortable in...may that be jeans or sweats or a business suit. If you PERSONALLY aren't comfortable wearing jeans in first class than don't do it, but I would certainly never think someone else &quot;second class&quot; because of what they are wearing on a plane. I have seen people look equally as sloppy or well dressed in both sweats, jeans, and slacks. **A little tip to save space, if I am taking a pair of bulky shoes (like tall boots) I will usually wear those on the plane.

I know that you get them once you are on the plane, that you can go put them on and take them off before you get off the plane.<BR>They don't throw them away then do they? I was under the understanding that they wash them and put them back out again.<BR>Like I said, the pillows and blankets are icky to me so I will pass on the jammies;)<BR>

Disregard the comments made by the &quot;fashion police&quot; responder...they'll obviously never be as &quot;classy&quot; as you are regardless of what you're wearing. For the amount of money or the number of FF miles you GAVE UP to ride in &quot;first&quot; the airline employess ought to be required to rock you to sleep, too. ENJOY your trip!
