First Class Sleeper Travel Pillow
My husband and I are planning a trip to Europe in the Spring. The worst part about flying that far is the flight itself in coach. I've found this First Class sleeper Travel Pillow and wanted to find reveiws from others who have used it. I've found only a few so I thought I'd post this topic here to see if anyone else has any experience with using this product. It certainly looks enticing. You can buy it on Amazon. Any thoughts on this product???

When we traveled to Paris last week coach-we used a blow-up fabric neck- covered pillow from Target--It was 10.99 Since we were doing only carry on it folded small and when inflated did a great job of stabilizing my head/neck. (no head bobbling)

I've looked at the product (never tried it or even seen it in person) but to me it just appears it might just take up more room on an already skimpy airplane seat.

The OP is talking about a half-body size cushion that you sort of lie on in your seat...to me, it looks like you'd be fighting to stay put in your seat.
http://www.protravelgear.com/protrav...per_medium.jpg We find it better to lean forward into a pillow braced on the tray - I saw a commercial product for this but we just use half-inflated beach balls and maybe a small pillow. http://images.skymall.com/images/pro.../96981577d.jpg |
I see those fully reclining seat/bed ads in hte NY Times and fantasize about flying in one. The beach ball idea sounds like a possible winner for the rest of us.
|
The beach ball sounds like it might work. What you do not want to do is spend 4 to 6 hours resting your head in your hands and your elbows on the tray table. I slept this way for 4 hours in April, and 7 months later there is a nerve in my right elbow that still screams if I pick up anything heavy. Thank you for the tip.

There was a thread on this some time ago. DW bought a couple of them. She loves it, I find it uncomfortable.

I *always* take along my trusty old down pillow and mash it around to be comfortable in transit.
When not in use I can squash it up in any suitcase (it WILL fluff up again!) I take it on plane rides, train rides, cruises, land trips etc. I would never leave home without & my dh of course! I stick a couple of extra pillow slips in the pillow to change when we reach our destination. |
I have a travel size down pillow that I love. I wouldn't be without it.
It squishes up into a large freezer, zip lock bag in my carry on...and fluffs up nicely. I'm not familiar with the one from Amazon. |
We never sleep enough that we don't shift around and also get up for the WC, etc. But we both agree on the leaning forward thing, don't care how weird it looks.. :)

I bought 2 of these last year for a trip to Italy. My sister and I both tried them. Neither of us like them. As Travelnut says, I felt like I was fighting to keep it (and me) on the seat. I don't recommend it.
