Firenzecard - a great deal for large families - or have I misunderstood?

We are in Florence this August - a family of seven and are interested in visiting many of the places that are covered by the Frienzecard. In particular the Uffizi and Accademia - which we will need to pre-book. However even though our children are under 18 and EU citizens and therefore get in for free - we will need to pay €4.00 each booking fee per child per venue if we pre book. Therefore it seems to make financial sense for us to buy 2 Frienzecards for my husband and which allow the children to accompany us for free. Entry just to the Uffizi and Accademia will be €100 for us all to prebook.

However - could anyone please clarify that we can then just enter when ever we like - without any pre booking/line waiting etc? It just seems a fantastic deal and to have that flexibility seems perfect...am I correct in this understanding?!
