Finland to Denmark

We are traveling to Finland next May to visit friends and then plan on Copenhagen as our next stop. How long is this trip by train and ferry or is it less expensive to fly?

Not 100 % sure, but I would say fly. Umless of course you want to cruise from Finland to Sweden. The boats go through an archipelago that is one of the most beautiful ones in the world.

The boat from Helsinki to Stockholm take 14 hours, and the train from Stockholm to Copenhagen is not a quick way either. So you would face over 20 hours of travelling. The plain to Copenhagen takes aboput 2 hours.

But I must say the cruise boats between Sweden and Finland are good ones. Like floating hotels with night clubs, pubs, restaurants, saunas and swimming pools, and shopping arcades.

Take an overnight ship to Stockholm (both www.silja.com and www.vikingline.se have cruise-standard ships) then get a day train to København, so spend the day in Stockholm, one of Europe's most beautiful cities, then the overnight sleeper.

I would go from Turku to Stockholm by boat. It IS the most beatufil archipelago in the world. Then I´d take the train from Stockholm to Copenhagen. I´ve done this trip myself. You see a lot on the way. If you don´t have enough time, this trip take about 24 h, I would check the flying prices from Stockholm to Copenhagen, it is much lower prices in Sweden. We, me and my friends, sometimes start our trips from Sweden too.
Hope you have a great trip!
