Given the cost of gas at the pump (not to mention the narrow roads in much of Europe) I have often wondered where is the 'upside' of upgrade.....

sue, I think it is the "feel safer" in a big car or needing the room for luggage and groups of more than two people that draws people to the larger cars.

The rental companies certainly don't make the big dollars from my husband and me. We actually enjoy renting the smaller cars. Ron loved driving his first smart car in Italy Deborah

I'm just puzzled why a C class is a Fullsize and a Passat a Midsize, when the Passat is bigger and at least as comfortable as the C class.
