Fine Dining in Athens

We are hoping to fine a couple of fine dining restaurants in Athens. We noticed Spondi, Edodi, Azul and Boschetto. Anyone ate any any of these places? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi, The restaurant at the top of the St George Lycabettus hotel was very nice. Its a five star place. You eat dinner and stare at the Acropolis. I was a happy camper there.

spondi is one the best awarded restaurants and is located in pagrati (central athens)

varoulko(one star michelin)is a seafood oriented cuisine, at a splendid location
at microlimano -marina

for something more athenian and more casual the
'aristera- dexia ' the summer version is the best for the greek nouvelle cuisine' and an excellent value (mostly seafood).

during the summer, the Lady/chef of the st george lykabettus is out of town...

if you go for the view and ready to pay fo it,then go up to the lykabettus hill,
at the orizontes.

edodi is perfect.
azul is fshionable in kolonaki ,central athens.
why not going for a night at the privilege-club or the island-club for good food/music/lounge feeling and super setting on the beach
Maybe you would like to take a look at the following link:

http://www.odyssey.gr/templates/features.asp?issno='200204'&iss='2002'&categA=4&ca tegB=16&ThemNo=4&window=July/August2002

It details the recommendations of one of the best food critics in Greece for the top 50 restaurants, tavernas etc. in Athens. Moreover, if you select "Summer Guides" from this site's (www.odyssey.gr) home page menu, you can get a lot of ideas about things to do or look up while in Athens and Greece (shopping, a fine Greek wine selection etc.).

My personal favorite is the "Varoulko" restaurant (fish and seafood only): cuisine justly qualifying as Greek (or Mediterranean, if you prefer), with a cosmopolitan touch that led the Michelin experts to award it one star.

not on your list, but I enjoyed Daphni restaurant a couple years ago; we dined there twice. Housed in a neoclassical mansion (near edge of Plaka), Daphni had excellent food, attentive service (a rarity in Greece!) and a good wine list, in elegant surroundings.
