FINDING A JOB IN LONDON
I'm in South Afric and am planning on moving to London for a year or two. I'm not sure where to start in organising visas and jobs, etc.
Any websites I could surf for more info? Or perhaps any agents I could call for help on finding a job before I even get there.

Please help!

there are countless numbers of agents listed on the various websites. Just do a search on goodle for "jobs UK" or something like that.

Or some sites like www.jobsearch.co.uk, www.flipdog.com, www.monster.co.uk etc...

For a non-EU citizen, you will have to look for work and that employer will apply for a work permit for you.

Unless you are able to get something like a working holiday VISA but that depends on the arrangements between the two countries.

Thanks Brownie!

Mpume, it would be a good idea to get information on the official/legal position first from
http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/default.asp?pageid=26
and the British High Commission in South Africa - especially before you risk any money with agents. I have no idea what may be on offer locally, but there have been mroe than a few rogues at work in London offering "help" with immigration issues.

Didn't anyone tell you that there are thousands of people in London looking for jobs, eg the asylum seekers who come to London plus all the college leavers who flock to London. There just isn't enough work for everyone as it is.
