Final 4 apartments
I think it's going to come down to one of these 4 places. We are a family of 4 (girls 15 and 19) arriving on July 7 for six nights. Looking for a place that is close to transportation (preferably underground stations as we're not at all familiar with buses.....unless they are easy to navigate). Looking for a place that has 3 beds and in a safe location. I have messaged the owner of #1 a couple times and he's replied within an hour - nice to know. Asked #2 about leak and was assured that's it's been repaired. I know a couple of these are a 3rd of 4th floor walk up. As that's not ideal, it's not a deal breaker. Which of these places would you choose/recommend/eliminate? Thank you for your help. - Robert

#1 We've talked about before -- it really isn't that convenient unless you want to use the buses at least a bit. Kensington Olympia is not a convenient station because it is on a spur line. #2 Is actually a bit closer to Victoria than to Pimlico station, so quite central and convenient #3 would be a 6-10 minute walk from Ladbroke Grove station - on Circle and Hammersmith & City tube lines Forgetting about the amenities/rates/walk up etc. The two I would really consider are Paradise Walk (#4) which is a VERY posh neighborhood, and Pimlico (#2) Pimlico is the most convenient location-wise, and Paradise Walk is the sweetest neighborhood. I'd be very happy with either one. |
We found using the buses in London to be quite easy. I do like the locations of #4 especially. We really like Chelsea.

just couldn't see it on the website, found it, that looks good

I was not able to view the listing on ivylettings but I believe it is also on VRBO. Looks good to me.

On the fourth listing.
I stay in this area when in London although a little closer to Sloane Square tube station. You would be within walking distance of Battersea Park across the Thames and the new Battersea Power Station Mall (really big) is also within walking distance. There are some good restaurants in Duke of York Square on King's Road just to name a few. Albert's Bridge is lit up at night and the Boy with a Dolphin statue is on the north end of the bridge. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fod...6ccfa82cf4.jpg Albert's Bridge https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fod...31b0d01bb8.jpg Albert Bridge Notice One more https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fod...68f4a41a24.jpg Battersea Power Station Mall |
In July, make sure there are lots of fans in the apartment you choose.. and four floors are a lot to climb when it’s super hot outside.

Oh -- to clarify just in case . . . Chelsea Hospital isn't a hospital. It's Christopher Wren's magnificent building that is home to the Chelsea Pensioners. https://www.chelsea-pensioners.co.uk...lsea-pensioner

WRT buses, google maps (and I am no friend of google) is a big help with buses. It will show you where to get on, and you can follow along so you will be ready to get off at the right stop.

Thanks for the help and suggestions. Looking at #4 for our trip. Will let you know once that's confirmed.

Booked it! Thanks for the help.

We spent a week in an apartment very near the location you booked. We loved staying in Chelsea! We walked to King’s Road to buy groceries and dine out. Went to neighborhood pubs including The Surprise, Took walks along the Thames. Charming area.
