Final 3 Paris Hotels

1st timers in Paris - middle aged mom with daughter & her friend (20 year olds). Will spend most of our time together sightseeing but would like a hotel location where night life for the girls is not too far and mom is comfortable exploring on her own. Narrowed hotels to Le St Beuve, Le St. Gregoire & BW Aramis. Any advice?

Honestly, all three of these are equally distant to St. Germaine, Montparnarsse, and the Latin Quarter. They are ALL excellent locations and all look quite nice. My first impression is they all equal choices. I have not stayed in them, but imagine they are popular. I suggest starting by calling them all and seeing which are available for your dates. Obviously you've done some good research.

I haven't stayed at any of these hotels also. However, from what I've read, the popularity of each hotel is shown in the order you have them.

Night life you young folks on the Left Bank? I'm dubious. The "in" spots are near Place de la Bastille and on rue Oberkampf in the 11th arrondissement.

There is nightlife in many quarters of the city. Blvd. Montparnasse is but one option for going out. Bastille is also a quick Metro or taxi.

From the perspective of six-plus decades, two of them in Paris, I heartily agree that you should stay on the left bank, especially given the ease of transportation, public and private. But for nightlife for 20-year-olds, believe me, send them off to the 11th arrondissement, with your blessing!

My wife and I have stayed at Le Saint Beuve and really liked it- small, convenient, etc Very friendly desk.
I would also ask you to check a hotel we have stayed in twice (last time in October). Hotel Pas des Calais... right off blvd St Germain... close to metro and within walking distance of a lot of stores, restaurants, etc It has a web site.
