Filming location for Passion of Christ

I posted this yesterday but can't seem to find it anywhere...maybe it didn't make it to the board? Mary

Sorry!...I meant to ask if anyone knows the name of the village where the Passion of Christ was filmed in Italy? Thanks in advance. Mary

Mary - if you click on your screen name (either in your post or on the the upper left-hand corner of your screen, you'll see all your previous posts.) I think you received some answers there :)

The town is Matera (correct spelling is useful for internet searches, no?)

While Gibson's film has put Matera on the map for Americans, the city has for decades been well-known to Italians for the singularity of its cave dwellings, which can easily be filmed to depict scenes from Biblical times.

Passion of Christ? Darling, I care more about Imitation of Christ. And you can find this fabulous clothing line at Barneys New York.

From a philisophical standpoint, what is a better imitation of Christ, Jim Caziel or a skirt??? hmmmmmmmm
