Yes, Patrick, I noticed that. Just imagine and without wheels! But what did it matter when all the places had porters! All you had to do was point out your luggage, if that even.
I think I was born into the wrong era. You too, Patrick? I think the movie was in the same context as "All That Jazz" with him viewing his life in song and dance. |
From production notes for the film:
The filmmakers chose England as "home base" for their production. "The film takes place in New York and Los Angeles and Paris and Venice, so we needed somewhere where we could recreate all those locations," says Winkler. "England has these wonderful, lush theaters to shoot in, gorgeous homes and estates, and all the ballrooms and salons we would need. That's from the director, Irwin Winkler. Not completely straight forward answer. kakalena |
We liked "DeLovely" quite a lot and also thought of "All That Jazz." I'm looking forward to seeing it again when it comes out on DVD so we can see Kevin Kline's great performance all over again--and skip over the two musical numbers that just didn't work.

Ah, Patrick. How could I have missed that point (Kevin Kline's portrayal of a non-singer). :-] As usual, you're right!!
