Figeac or Cahors after 7 days in Sarlat?

Hi all,

I need help in selecting a location for 3 days following a week in Sarlat. I am finding it hard to decide. Any suggestions betweem Figeac or Cahors or even another town? We will plan to visit Peche Merle during this time. Which location would also give us some interersting driving and sights to see that we would not have covered during our stay in Sarlat? Any hotel suggestions would also be appreciated.

Also, any opinions as to whether we need these additional 3 days after our stay in Sarlat would be appreciated. We will be heading to Paris by train after our time in the Dordogne.

What was wrong with the first set of responses we provided???

If you want more suggestions, just top your previous post so others can see what suggestions have already been made & not made.

You certainly won't run out of things to do in 3 days.

Hi I,

Been to both.

Stayed in Cahors at the Hotel Terminus. The hotel (a Belle Epoque building with décor that leans toward Art Deco) is located across the street from the train station in, surprisingly, an upscale, residential neighborhood.

We liked the hotel and its restaurant (despite the loud and noisy Europeans).

Cahors was OK.

It is quite close to Pech Merle and St Cirque La Popie.

Next time we will stay in Figeac.

You can easily see PM and SClP from there.

Sorry Stu- I didn't think the first post went through. Couldn't find it when I searched for it under a number of key words!
