Fiesoli

Has any one ever heard of this town? It is outside of Florence? Can you get their by bus? how long a ride? Is it worth the trip?
Thanks

The name is Fiesole and it is a hilltown above Florence. We stayed there and had a wonderful view looking down on Florence. Yes, I do believe it is worth visiting and is easily reached by bus. You take the No. 7 Regresso from the bus station or the Duomo. It is very easy to do.

The bus ride is about 20 minutes and it's very worth while, depending on how many days you are in Florence. If you are only there for a day or two I would not spend the time to go to Fiesole. But if you're in Florence longer I would take the trip.

You can take bus number 7 from the train station up to Florence. We did it and enjoyed a beautiful view over Florence. There was also a Roman theatre and a museum with Etruscan findings.

I think the term is enigmatic, particularly in view of the afraid of heights jest.

20 minutes on a bus is not a long time - it is absolutely worth a visit.

Let's hope the thread is useful to others who actually want to visit Fiesole.
