Absolutely, if only for the view of Florence. We were there in August 2005 and it was a nice respite from the crowds. We went for lunch; wish we had thought to go in the evening to watch the sunset.

Hi poo,

Take the no. 7 bus from the SMN train station up to Fiesole (20 min 1E) to watch the sun set over the city from the terrace of the bar blue.

You can also take the #7 bus from Piazza San Marco if you happen to be in that part of the city. It's on the other side of Florence from SMN. If you go, be sure to walk up the hill from where the bus lets you off to go to the monastary. It's very interesting.

And if possible, have a drink on the terrace of Villa San Michele when the sun goes down!

Hey poo, easy problem to solve. One round of drinks at the BarBlue and a second round at the Villa San Michelle!! Enjoy.

I'd like to add one more thing: If you go to Piazza San Marco for Bus #7, you must buy your ticket(s) in the small convenience store right at the bus stop.

Since we stayed at the Hotel Casci on Via Cavour, Pz. San Marco was very convenient for us. It was about a five-minute walk from the hotel.

We took Ira's advice (thanks, Ira!) and it was one of the loveliest evenings we had in Italy, and there were plenty of lovely evenings! We had prosecco and strawberries and held hands while we watched the sun set and the lights come on in Florence below us. Aaaahhhh.

Fiesole is a real roof over the city of Florence, and a good place to visit to escape the heat and crowds of the town centre.

Hi JoanneH
>any hotels in Naples good for one night passing through?<

Check out www.albergosansevero.it/indexe.html

They are all in the Spaccanapoli section.
