FF "Experts" Is There Recourse when your First Class flight is "downgraded" to Coach?
First of all I want to make it crystal clear that this is not a complaint and I also realize we are talking about a "domestic" ticket but here is the situation:
Earlier this year we purchased R/T First Class tickets through a consolidator for a trip in December/January to Hawaii.
We paid about $1000 each (incl taxes).
The outbound segments are on American...no problems there.
The return segments (HNL-ATL and ATL-BWI) are on Delta. Given Delta's recent "financial unpleasantness" I decided to check online to see if the flight times, flight numbers, etc., had changed.
Delta has now changed the ATL-BWI segment equipment to an aircraft which only has coach seats.
Given the fact that we paid way less for these seats than would normally be charged and also the fact that the segment ATL-BWI is less than 2 hours, my initial reaction was just let it go.
But now I am wondering if I should even bother with "Delta In India" on the phone to see if there is any recourse.
Is it worth it or should I go with my current inclination and just go with the flow? What do you think?

Yes you are entitled to a partial refund, but the people you need to talk to are the folks at the travel agency. Since they are the ones that issued the ticket, they are the only one that can change/adjust it.
Good luck!

Just to add a final "update" I called Delta directly (and didn't get anyone in a foreign land, either!!). They very readily and pleasantly made the schedule change so we could return, and actually with, fortunately, less layover time in ATL, on a flight offering First Class seats.
It is a small thing considering the literally thousands of dollars we saved on these flights by booking months ahead and through a consolidator but I was pleased with Delta's response and glad I called them to inquire.
