Festivals in Spain?

My wife and I are heading out to Spain next summer. Probably going from Madrid to Seville to Valencia and back to Madrid. Are there any no-miss hotels or especially festivals?

Thanks for your help

Check out the following website with a list of summer festivals and traditions in Spain: http://festivals.projects.eun.org/Sp...mer/summer.htm

From personal experience, the Festival de San Isidro in Madrid around the second week of May is an absolutely fabulous celebration. Tons of traditional activities in Plaza Mayor every night. Obviously, San Fermin, but I've never been to it.

Thanks,
We're going in August now for sure and I'd like to catch a bullfight and possibly that tomato festival. Anyone have any suggestions?

"La Tomatina" takes place in Buñol (take highway A3 from Madrid towards Valencia) in August. Make reservations way ahead of time, as it is more popular every year.

Kevin - this site tells you what is going on anywhere in the world!! http://www.whatsonwhen.com/
Also I went to a bull fight in Madrid when I was there 2 years ago. NOT for the faint of heart!!

Kevin, I was told that bullfights are always held Sunday afternoons, with few exceptions if any. In Madrid, the ring is at the metro stop of Las Ventas. As you exit the station, there's this awesome building. You can get the tickets at the windows but come early enough; when we went last Sept, the show started at 6 pm and we got the tickets at 5:30 . For the bullfight we saw, prices started at 500 pesetas; I think the cheap seats are good enough.

As I recall, the bullring in Seville is not as convenient to get to as the one in Madrid.

Thanks for the advice. Do I need to get Bullfight tickets before I arrive?

Kevin, We bought our tickets that Sunday morning from the tickets sellers near the Plaza del Sol (we just asked around and people showed us where to go.
