Day and Night Tour of the Alhambra?

yes yes yes!
the experience is very different. during the day it gets quite crowded especially in the Nasrid palaces which is one of the main attractions of course. [and is what you see in all the publicity photos].
in the evening, you can wander through the beginning part of the gardens to the palaces [which is the only part of the building that is open] and then have a much more relaxed tour of the palaces as there are far fewer people allowed in.
a change from when we went, you can also do a night-time tour of all the gardens but personally, it is the experience of the Nasrid Palaces as night that i would want to have.

I agree - and didn't know you could now visit the gardens. I thought it was a totally different experience at night. It wasn't very crowded and it was quiet - almost spooky feeling like you'd stepped back in time. What was also interesting was the colors seemed so different. With 3 nights you really have time for this experience!

what we liked about the alcazar in Seville is that the colours seem to be better preserved - and there were far fewer people.
this is not to dissuade you from seeing the Alhambra, which is wonderful, but to suggest seeing the Alcazar as well.

I second the suggestion to see the Alcazar in Sevilla as well as the Alhambra. The Alcazar has gardens that are very pleasant. I smile every time I think of the gardens in the Alcazar because a remember a sort of hostile duck who took a dislike to my sister's pant leg and kept pecking at it.

Oh yes, the Alcazar is definitely on the agenda for Seville. Do we need to book that in advance also?
And sorry for being a bit dense, but where do we pick these tickets up? The ServiCaixa website is not the easiest to follow.

nyc - for reasons I can't really fathom, the Alcazar does not seem to attract the same teeming hoards as the Alhambra. so no, you just buy your ticket when you get there.
when we were there, we picked up our pre-booked Alhambra tickets from the automatic ticket machines in the foyer of the ticket office; to do this you need the same credit card that you booked them with. [ditto all tickets booked in spain, IME].
