Ferry Service in January

Does anyone know if it is possible to book a reservation for passengers and their auto on a ferry for the following routes at the end of January?

1) Ferry from Naples to Cantania (one-way)

2) Ferry from Messina to Calabria (one-way)

If so, can you book these routes online? And if so, how far in advance are the tickets available? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

The Messina-Calabria route is very frequent. I'm not sure you can book that one in advance - if I remember, you just 'turn up and go' ...

The Napoli-Catania service is run by TTT Lines and I think you can book on their website (www.tttlines.it). It's an overnight crossing, so you'll need a cabin, but they shouldn't be busy in January. There are alternatives from Salerno to Messina (www.carontetourist.it), or Napoli to Palermo (www.tirrenia.it or www.snav.it).
From Messina to Villa San Giovanni, ferries run frequently round the clock and there's no need to book (www.carontetourist.it).
