Ferry Naxos-Crete?

Trying to put together a trip in May-June. We would like to fly into Athens and out of Crete but go via Naxos.
Whereas we can find the ferry info from Athens to Naxos we can't find Naxos -Crete.We remember many years ago catching a ferry from Crete to Paros- is this the way we have to do it?
Thanks in advance.

Yes. The Hellenic Seaways FlyingCat 4 travels from Mykonos to Crete with stops at Paros, Ios and Santorini. Take note of the no-sail dates.

From Naxos you can take the ferry to Santorini and then pick up the flying Cat there for the trip to Crete.
You can also backtrack to Paros and pick it up there too.

Thank you for this information.
We have now booked a return to Athens from the UK and so we won't be going to Crete.
My husband has found a website called Greek Travel Pages suggesting that there are sailings on another line from Piraeus to Naxos at 7 am. I read that the underground doesn't start until 6 am. How do you get to Piraeus for an early sailing? or do you stay there the night before? Can you recommend anywhere decent for a short night which is quiet?
Thanks

Blue Star Ferries has a 7:30 AM departure from Piraeus to Santorini. http://www.bluestarferries.com

The first metro of the day is at 5:30am, so if you stay near the Monastiraki Metro Station you can catch one that will get you to Piraeus in plenty of time to catch the Blue Star ferry. There's no need to stay in Piraeus. Buy your tickets in advance so you don't have to scramble once you get to Piraeus. You can buy them at the airport when you first arrive from the travel desk of Amphitrion Holidays on the Arrivals Level between Exit/Entry Doors 2&3. They're open 24/7. Of course you can also buy them at any travel agency in Central Athens.

Hotels near the Monastiraki Station: Magna Grecia, Amazon, Acropolis View, Attalos and Cecil.

We have made this same trip several times from Hotel Attalos. If you let them know you are leaving early they can provide you with an early breakfast ( a cup of coffee and a piece of bread) but you can easily get to the Blue Star from Attalos on the metro that early in the morning. It takes a half hour and coast about 1.5 euro. Watch out for pickpockets though.

Thank you for the heads-up not to stay in Piraeus!I'm now looking at the hotels in Athens.
Many thanks again
