Hello:
I am planning a trip to both cities this summer but doing some research I had found so many information about how scenic if the ferry going from Stockholm to Helsinki. That was my first option since I want to appreciate the views but for time and planning reasons I have to change the itinerary from Helsinki to Stockholm. Does anyone have done the trip both ways and can tell me if the views are the same?

Gone both ways and the ferries take the exact same course- only difference is length of daylight on each end-the best views are when you go by Sweden all the way to Stockholm.

What month are you going in?

I think that there is a day boat from Turku to Stopckholm (trains from Helsinki) so you could see it all.

Have taken a cruise ship from Helsinki to Stockholm and then outbound toward Copenhagen. The Swedish archipelago coming and going is the same route and is gorgeous. The ships, including ferries are led in and out by pilot boats and take the same route from what I could tell.
As long as you have sunlight it shouldn't matter which direction you take.

I've also done overnight stopovers in Turku and Mariehamn. The island Aland is interesting.

On the ships I recommend the buffet dinner. Reserve second seating to avoid most of the children. For about $50 you can eat for two hours, beer and wine included. It is the best seafood layout I can ever remember. The cheese board is in the back. At night hit the aft bar on an upper deck for a great time. Stock up on duty free booze if you drink.

Only beer and wine is included. I had to pay extra for the akvavit.

Still a great deal for this very expensive place! Dine with a great view to boot!
