Ferry from Crete to Santorini

Hi Greek experts, we're travelling from Heraklion to Santorini on August 15 (a Thursday) and hoping to take a ferry leaving later in the day to have more time to explore Crete. We're not in a rush to get to Santorini since we have several days there. So far the only ferries I can see listed on the web are fast boats leaving in the morning. Based on previous years, is it likely there will be a later ferry, even if it's a slower boat? Thanks for your advice.

There is only one conventional ferry per week from Crete to Santorini, and that runs on Sundays. The reason the fast boats all leave in the morning is that during the summer Heraklion is their home port. They set out in the morning, do their rounds, then come back to Heraklion late in the afternoon.
