Ferry between Venice and Croatia
Does anyone have recent experience of ferries between Venice and Croatia? We are in the early stages of planning a trip for June 2012 that will involve a few days in Venice and then renting a villa in Croatia. At this stage I am not sure if we will do Venice first or last, but the key to it all will be working out the ferry trip between the two!
Would be hugely grateful for any experience you may have. Thanks |
There's only one ferry and it leaves each end once a day.

The boats from Venezia will take you to the Istrian peninsula. For places further south, it may be more convenient to take a train from Venezia to Ancona or Bari for ferries to Split, Hvar or Dubrovnik.

Hi Casseopia, Ferries can be a fun, quirky, and unique experience. The variety of people from truckers, to vagabonds, merchants and tourists makes for some great people-watching and eavesdropping. Timing is the issue. If seas are too rough, a delay can keep you cooped up on dock for a day or more -- waiting out calmer seas. So just know your scheduled crossing may take longer than posted. Hope you have asfe and wonderful travels.

Thank you all - some food for thought as we develop our plans!
